What is your favorite Max Lucado book that you have read?

Best Answer For some reason this question has brought tears to my eyes. I have been very touched within by his books. I remember reading the what others have said. I guess the crippled lamb was one of my favorites also. It is probably because I feel like this little lamb even today. Please pray that my broken heart will be mended.

When my mom was reading the book she came upon a word she didn't recognize. The sentence went as followed " Jesus makes no mention of Nicodemus's VIP status, good intentions, or academic credentials, not because they don't exist, but because, in Jesus's algorithm, they don't matter." What does the word algorithm mean in this context?

Best Answer Algorithm is a word from computer science, it basically it a usually complex set of rules that govern how some program behaves, or arrives at an output, so in this sentence, consider it like a viewpoint or process of arriving at a decision. So from the context we can say that the character of Jesus simply doesn't consider Nicodemus' status, intentions or credentialing important. In this context, Jesus whether viewed as the historical person or some other character so named, may not know or care about things Nicodemus' considers important. But it sounds like the author was trying a bit too hard to be technical, or the subject of the area of the book has to do with computer science or something. Nicodemus as a reference - was the name of a biblical figure who tried very hard to understand some of Jesus' teachings and specifically the notion of the nature of heavenly and earthly things. Alleged to have been the same Nicodemus ben Gurion character in both the Old and New Testaments.
