Question Could you help me with my weight loss, please?
I'm 5'2 and 139 - 140 pounds. Ideally, I'd like to lose 25 - 30 pounds of that and be 110 - 115 pounds (my healthy weight range is technically 104 - 131, but I want to be skinny without being unrealistic). I'm not like FAT fat, but definitely chunky. I figure skate at FS5 level 6 days a week for a total of about 8 hours a week, plus run 40 minutes a week at school, as well as do other sports in gym the other three weekdays available (it really varies...badminton, volleyball, basketball, soccer, floor hockey, just whatever the unit is). I honestly think I'm pretty fit. I'd love to be able to go to the gym or something, but can't afford to. So I do a lot of exercise...maybe it's my diet that's killing me? I don't pig out on junk food like the other kids (I USED to be able to go through bags of junk food and stay skinny, if I wanted, when I was younger, but alas, no longer...) but I definitely don't think I eat quite healthily enough. I looked into the book "The Mayo Clinic Diet" and really want to follow there advice, but after eating only/mainly fruit and stuff like that for a few days in a row, I end up eating chocolate or something, even if I let myself have really small amounts every day throughout to try and prevent that. Is it just a diet/self discipline thing? I'd really like to be at least 120 - 125 by July, but even if it was slower than that at least I'd lose it and hopefully keep it off. I'm not so worried about getting a "bikini body" (though that'd be very nice, haha) as I am a more permanent, long-term solution. I'm already working out a ton more than most other kids my age (14). What's wrong? What do you suggest doing? (NO, I'm NOT going to buy your acai berry or colon cleanse or diet pills...in your dreams. Sorry to any of you out there who AREN'T trying to sell me on those, just thought I'd put it out there.)
Best Answer Eat less, burn more. Do this and you will lose weight,., but you must stick to it or nothing will happen.

Question Some good, healthy, fruit and veggie-type recipies?
Hello! I'm attempting to eat healthier by adding fruits, veggies, and other healthy foods, while cutting out junk food. Ideally I've got about 25 pounds to lose, and am reading the book "The Mayo Clinic Diet", which basically tells you "eat more healthy stuff and eat less junk food". But it also keeps saying to make your food interesting by adding spices and the like. Honestly, I'm not a great chef and am drawing a blank on ideas of what you can do with, say, a strawberry or a potato, for example, beyond the basics. A plain strawberry. A baked potato or mashed potatoes. Any recipe ideas?
Best Answer With strawberries I thinki t's best to eat it as is, or make a strawberry smoothie with it...blend in a few other fruits with it add some ice and a bit of water and it's a nice and healthy slushy. Or you can blend the strawberries alone and make strawberry ice pops. With potatoe, you can make potatoe soup add a bit of onion and carrot and a bit of soy sauce. You could chop the potatoe in wedges and make baked fries or you could make mashed baked potatoe ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxFgwomROG4 )
